Not another House of Night (or Twilight)

For me, Twilight and Vampire Academy are my favorites.
I cant choose between the two!
Twilight- It is most definitely not the best written, but the story would have to be my favorite (excluding BD)
VA- Is written very well and the story is just as good, but different.

I really love books that are written to where i can connect w/ the characters and fall in love w/ them.
Which is why i love VA and Twilight so much.
Both of them have characters that i would want to have in my life...

HON is very immaturely written, even for me (16 years old)
i get sort of annoyed w/ 'I heart them' and 'I almost peed my pants!'
i read them because the story is interesting to me (even though its slow as hell) and i want to find out what happens, but they really arent all that great to me.

Blue Bloods is another series i enjoy..its not at good as VA, but its a lot better than HON in my opinion.
THere isnt as much romance as the others, but its a really great take on Vampires =]

Vampire Academy...

it is way better than any other book including Twilight and House of Night.

I have just finished reading the House of NIght series and I read twilgiht ages ago but Vampire Academy is the best book I have ever read.

I have read the following vamp books
Twilight
-new moon
-eclipse
-breaking dawn
-partial draft of midnight sun
Vampire Academy
-frostbite
-shadow kiss
Dracula
Evernight
-stargazer
House of Night
-betrayed
-chosen
-untamed
-hunted

I was an insane twilight fan for a few months then I picked up The house of night in December. I picked up Vampire Academy a month ago and now like it just as much as House of Night... Though I may like the Academy books more now because they are more maturee like, for some reason House of Night makes me think of eiigth gradderss wich shouldnt be too young because I am a fresshmann : / bahh

I never understood the big fuss over twilight but then again to me The Twilight series was never interesting...I enjoy the House of Night series and The Vampire academy series more.

Even though i read twilight and halfway to the grave(paranormal romance) etc, Vampire Academy is still the best. I've been chasing after Blood promise for like..6 mths alr??? i'm so obsessed with it that i got into thousands of websites regarding Vampire Academy and also a Richelle's regular blog reader. honestly, i didn't get that obsession with any other books i read.

That's because Dracula is the most obvious and well-known out of all the Vampire Patriarchs, Magdalene, so it's really no wonder how he could survive, if not thrive, from sunlight, no questions asked. Idea

I agree with the other person.

I've read House of Night, Twilight, and Vampire Academy and the best, for me, is Vampire Academy. I'm about to read the Blue Blood Series. Has anyone read that? They say they're good but i don't know.

I have not read HON, but I have read the first of the Morganville Vampire series. It's different from the likes of Twilight and VA and even Vampire Diaries, in that the Morganville series portrays vampires as villains. At least that was the case in the first book. I have the second book, but it's in line behind the Night World books by LJ Smith.

I've been hearing a lot about this Blue Bloods series. Without spoilers, can you tell us a bit about them?

i've read all HoN that have been released so far.
as well with the twilight series,
vampire academy series,
vampire diaries series,
and evernight series.
i personally believe that the vampire academy series was the best.
it was definately more realistic.
e.g, shadow kiss. rose actually lost dimitri.
in most books the author would keep the male lead in the story - so everything was perfect.
and richelle mead has clearly shown that in real life, things dont turn out peachy every time.
the series was well written, and im looking forward to blood promise and meeting richelle at the VA tour afterparty.
i think all the vampire books i stated above are worth reading,
and i also believe the HoN series actually was good.
but vampire academy wins by alot.

I love the HoN series! and i agree about Zoey being more mature in that sence (it got pretty bad at some points)! I totally think VA and HoN are about the same but Twilight dropped a LOONG time ago from my fave books/series! it gets boring after all the publicity and everyone reading it and going "OMG ITS TWILIGHT STUFF!!!!! I TOTALLY NEED TO GET IT!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!" no offence to those people (i was one at one point to) but ya thats my view on it!

twilight was my fav. for a while and then HoN and then VA But its not gonna change again i love VA too much i have read all the books 3 times each and anther Really good book you guys should check out is Jessicas Guide to dating on the darkside . by beth Fantaskey . the title sounds really corney but once you start reading it you will get what it means but its reallyyy good .
