| Well, personally I think Rose needs to go after Dimitri. It would not only give her closure to what has happened but also it might reveal a way to save him. Also if they just completely forgot about Dimitri, and didn't go after him I feel like the connection that had been built up between Dimitri and Rose (starting from the first book) would just kind of be destroyed. And I mean there wouldn't be a ton of other interesting things to focus on otherwise for BP if Dimitri wasn't somehow involved...if I had to read a whole book solely about Lissa and her struggles I would probably get bored. But that's just my view on it... _________________ "When it's time to live and let die, and you can't get another try, something inside this heart has died, you're in ruins." --Green Day

| I think it would be entirely out of character for Rose to stay and graduate and then go off to college and be Lissa's bodyguard. That's not her style. Not to mention what would Mead then write about? Rose just "wondering" what happened to Dmitri? I agree with the poster who said that if she stayed home, it would nullify the bond written between Rose and Dmitri. |

| Rose definitely has to go after Dimitri. Anything else would just not do. It wouldn't make sense. Rose is IN LOVE with the man! He was her first, too! How could she just continue on like nothing in this situation? They were making plans for their future and for her to say, "Oh well, he's gone now, I guess I will follow my original plan of finishing school and becoming Lissa's guardian..." would just be wrong. _________________ Yes, I know it's Devil Hunter Yohko...but she reminded me of Rose. |

| Agreed. And I mean Rose has been putting up with Lissa and all her problems and crap for such a long time I think it's about time she do something for herself! It's not even something enjoyable... It's not like Lissa won't be protected. I was really annoyed with Lissa, it's like um ok your best friend might die looking for her true love and you are only concerned for yourself!? Ugh. _________________ "When it's time to live and let die, and you can't get another try, something inside this heart has died, you're in ruins." --Green Day

| Yeah, I mean maybe if Lissa had paid more attention to Rose earlier off then Rose would stay with Lissa, and they could get through it together or maybe nothing would have happened... But she didn't, so now she's gotta deal. _________________ "When it's time to live and let die, and you can't get another try, something inside this heart has died, you're in ruins." --Green Day

| Rose staying behind and do nothing is just not her. She needed to go out and find what she needs. As for Lissa, Rose would still be able to feel/see her through the bond thing. If something were to happen I'm pretty sure the academy has phones. |

exactly. its not like theyre completely seperated. rose will still be in lissa's head all the time and lissa can send rose "messages" through her head. |

| Although being able to sense lissa's feelings could be a bad thing because I think she is genuinely upset rose left and that's just the way it is. But constantly feeling lissa's sadness or anger could make rose feel even worse and make her mission/journey that much harder... Or, I know this is unlikely but what if the bond starts to fade as they are apart? I mean if you think about it they have never really been separated ever since their bond was formed. For extended periods of time anyways. _________________ "When it's time to live and let die, and you can't get another try, something inside this heart has died, you're in ruins." --Green Day

| Was it ever mentioned in the books that Rose could "turn off" that ability to be in Lissa's head? I know that sometimes she had to concentrate really hard to go in there...and other times where Lissa was high on emotion the bond thing would come into Rose's head whether she wanted it or not. (Remember when Lissa and Christian were in that church loft and they were going to get it on? LOL!) You see, if Rose could turn off the bond, then she could concentrate on her mission to save Dimitri. _________________ Yes, I know it's Devil Hunter Yohko...but she reminded me of Rose. |

| I never got the impression she could turn it off. But I'll be curious about the effect distance has on the bond. |
