my perdition is that rose starts steaming things up with two guys Adrian and Dimitri the question is who will come out the victor and keep the spoils aka rose my vote is sadly for adrian oh and there is the matter of the darkness that rose was feeling in the last book like the first book said i think rose is taking the shadows from Lisa that's just my guess though

Since she is forbidden from having a relationship with Dimitri I think Adrian id the next best thing.

Since she's out to kill Dmitri, if she's successful, or if Lissa can't restore him, then Adrian has the opening. However, as Tatiana's favorite (only) grand-nephew, there is no future. Tasha was willing to marry and have Dmitri's kids. Most Moroi do not willingly have Dhampir babies with the Moroi always in peril of dying off.

Nope. I dont think so, because rose isn't in LOVE with him.
Sure, she sees him as a friend, part time of course, but I don't think she'd get with him.
Besides, Tatiana would have her head cut off even if she tried. xD

I think it was whether Adrian has a chance but the "darkness" part I don't know. Maybe do you think his darkness (w/o a shadow kiss partner) will interfere in his ability to have a romance with Rose if she was willing? Or do you think he'll go insane w/o a shadow kiss? Dunno.

I love this book, but Rose only sees Adrian as a (kind of) friend. I think that if she is successful in killing Dimitri (sob), or Lissa can't heal him, she is going to stay away from boys all together and focus on being a good guardian. However, she is known to keep promises, so she will probably go out with him, and 'give him a fair shot' like he asked her to do. There is a very small possibility that she will fall in love with him, for she has already tried that with Dimitri and she isn't too happy with the outcome of that relationship either. The matter of the dark aura is a different story altogether however. I believe that Rose might actually injure herself seriously because Dimitri was the one who calmed her down in the cabin when she lost her temper. There may be a way that Adrian will be able to keep her from doing this, however, just he hasn't discovered that just yet.

Imho it would be a really stupid twist if Rose ends up with Adrian. I mean, I really like Adrian as a character but Dimitri is Dimitri, dammit! Not to mention that it's been hinted all the time that her slight attraction towards Adrian is nothing compared to what she has with Dimitri. She can't get second best, she's a badass!

There has to be this amazing twist to the story that will leave us breathless. Plus, Richelle knows that killing Dimitri would result in angry mobs with pitchforks and torches coming out to get her. She just wouldn't!

I agree with basically everything Magdalene said. For Rose to end up with Adrian would be anti-climactic. It is like giving her runner-up.

I wonder if adrian could take some of the shadow-kissed-ness from Rose, I mean after all he is on drugs and whatnot all the time so he doesn't go crazy, so it wouldn't effect him as much.
And also do you think adrian would be pissed if Rose did somehow find Dimitri, get his soul back and then come back and not stay true to her promise to adrian to give him a fair chance???

Now, Rose takes the bad 'side-effects' of spirit away from Lissa. Adrian is also a spirit user, but maybe not as skilled? I wonder how he could take that (and I know what you're saying) "shadow-kissed-ness" stuff away from Rose. Like heal her in a way that Lissa can't? It could be possible because Adrian and Rose don't have the same bond as she does with Lissa.

I think at that point, if Rose is somehow successful in bringing Dimitri back alive/non-Strigoi, Adrian would step up and make a stand. I think he would try to fight for her affections. Metaphorically speaking, slap Dimka with the white glove and challenge him. Then again, I'm sure on some level Adrian knows Rose is devoted to Dimitri. If she came back with Dimitri he would know that she couldn't keep her promise...at least not that of a FAIR chance. Sure, she may explain to Dimitri what transpired and say, "Look I told him I would give him a chance. So we'll go out, but my heart belongs to you." Kind of thing.

You're right. Things to ponder. Argh! Is it August yet?

That might even work out though (Adrian and Rose pretend going out) because then there wouldn't be so much contravery around the fact that Dimitri and Rose are together because no one will know. But somehow I don't think that is what they would want....

The "shadowkissed-ness" is a bond created when a spirit-user saves a Dhampir's life. And as far as we know, it's a one-way dumping of side-effects and can't then be pushed back to the Spirit user...let alone another spirit user.

As for the promise to Adrian, I think he assumed that Rose would either (a) not find Dmitri or (b) kill Dmitri. I don't think he expects Rose to give him a chance with Dmitri in the picture. That said, if Rose's career is important, I think her romance with Dmitri could be effectively killed if Dmitri had been sent to another country. There was a council or a committee that assigned Dhampirs no?
