| Secret Magic All younger Americans side with you, more of the older conservatives don't. I personally am annoyed because our rules are hypocritical. At 18 your considered an adult and are there for responsible for your own choices and actions. The government can draft you etc. etc. etc. Yet you can't drink until your 21. That makes no sense at all to me. Like you said it doesn't stop us but still. In the recent years a lot of places have been changing the drivers license age to eighteen rather than sixteen, saying that kids aren't mature enough. Yet at the same time forcing us to act mature at the governments convenience. It's no wonder younger kids rebel against the system. I did when I was that age and it will continue on. Personally I think our system is so screwed up beyond screwed up, right now no body in office knows what to do, each half thought out attempt is just making things worse. Don't get me wrong I'm proud to live in America but at the moment most Americans are feeling taken advantage of and feeling oppression creep in. Laws keep passing with out our say, making life harder and more difficult for most middle America. I'm not going into political spiel but just trying to make the point on how idiotic our legal drinking age is. _________________ "I knew it! | I get it, it's alright. I figured it would be something like that, being considered an "adult" but still being restricted. Sometimes I feel that's what makes having 18 the legal age a good thing, because it allows people to feel like an adult in a way; but at the same time I think 18 year olds aren't always completely sound in their judgements (that doesn't apply to everyone, but to a lot of people) Speaking of driving though, do you guys have a system of sort, like a learners licence and then your full licence? In Australia (or at least my state) we have to do a certain amount of time on out Learners and then we move onto level 1 Provisional licence for a year and a bit and then move onto level 2 Provisional before we're able to move onto a full licence. Is it as strict over there? |

| No. not that strict. You can get a learners permit when your seventeen and pay for driving school and get so many road hours before you can get your license. But if you just wait till your 18 then you can just go get your license. Honestly though I agree with your guys system, there are a lot of horrid drivers on our roads. Wow I never heard of that though, I learned something new today. _________________ "I knew it! I can't even imagine that-I'd be freaking out all the time around him. | They recently changed out driving laws, well more like updated really. Learners used to only have to have 50 hours of driving and be 17 to move onto their P1s, but now they have to do 120 hours. Not being intrested in driving means I now have to do the 120 hours, even though by now I could be on my P2s |

| I am 15 going on 16 in September... although I have a morbid opinion on birthdays. My whole family celebrates their birthdays but I don't celebrate mine. I just keep thinking that each birthday brings me a year closer to death so I live my life to the fullest whenever I can. One of my nicknames is the Pessimistic Realistic. PR for short. But that's my opinion... so don't feel old just live your life. I'm out, essa. |

| I just turned 19 a couple days ago. Don't have my license though. Here you get your permit at 16, provisional license at 17 (you cant drive after a certain time, only one passenger thats not related to you at a time, etc.) and official license at 18. But your 18 yr old license is portait style, while a 21 yr old and up's is landscape. Makes it easier for ppl to know whether you can be served alcohol. BTW my sister is the one who showed me the books and she's 24. And I have a cold...and allergies. Blegh. gonna go nap now.. |

| i love that quote, "You might be surrounded by clouds, but you'll always be like sunshine to me." Adrian is so romantic. The things he says to Rose are always from the heart. _________________ "I knew it! I can't even imagine that-I'd be freaking out all the time around him.
