What a sticky and thorny quintangle. Tasha, as a royal, is giving Dmitri an offer of a lifetime: marriage (right?) and children with a Royal that he can be with a raise...and he'd eventually come to love Tasha too. Adrian was always flirting and I couldn't truly guess if his intentions were legit. But as an Ivashkov and nephew to the Queen, he could've provided Rose with many perks in life. And Mason and Rose were so uniquely similar that their life could've been fun and love would eventually come.

But alas, Dmitri and Rose were drawn together in a much more poignant way. When Rose told Dmitri to take the offer, it showed such maturity. He was even surprised given how snotty she'd been to Tasha all along.

Is the age difference okay? 17 and 24 would be "illegal" in the human population too (note how concerned Dmitri was about the love-spell and how much trouble he'd be in regardless). But is it "okay" b/c Rose has had to mature a lot faster than other "normal" girls her age?

Love is love. And as long as Rose and Dimitri know the consequences... I say let them be.
Rose is an old soul, and she's had to grow, and mature much faster than other people her age.
Especially, because of the person she's guarding.

But either way, they didn't have to hide it for long, considering Roses birthday, and how long it took for them both to realize that they were in love with eachother.

And to comment on your human illegal comment thingy, its a much different world for them.
Their lives are really shortened, if you think about it, and I say let them experience love as it comes to them. Because of their disposition, and the Strigoi always coming after the people their guarding.... they have to sacrifice themselves for others. So where does life really fit in for them? Everyone should experience love, for just a little while. Especially in the VA world.

I was actually kind of mad to find out about Tasha. I mean I knew they they were friends, and everything, but really I was upset that she offered him to stay with her. Adrien i thought was awesome, and i thought that if Dimitri were to take the offer that Rose should have went with Adrien even though the Queen wasnt happy that she was "hearing" things about the 2 of them. But in the end I had to keep up hope for Dimitri. I love the guy. [not really, he's just my favorite character.] I dont think the age difference really matter that much, i mean yes Dimitri showed some concern for it, but I think he knew that he loved her..and age would eventually not matter.

Given that Adrian and Rose were never seen together in any romantic fashion, what would've started the tongues wagging all the way over to Queen Tatiana? And was she being a hypocrite given her relationship with her Dhampir, Blood-Whore, masseuse? I'm assuming she never married?

Why is their age such a big deal? 7 years is not that big of a difference. I hooked up with my bf when I was 17 and he was 23. So? We've lasted together for years. It's not like he's old enough to be her father or anything.

I think a part of the "problem" from Dimitri's POV is the fact that he is in a position of authority over her, i.e. a teacher. I don't believe the age difference is that big of a deal, either. 7 years is OK.

I'm thinking, now this is just my own theory, that the rumour that reached Tatiana was started by Adrian himself. Sorta like a wishful thinking kind of deal.

Well Adrian was in Rose's proximity alot. And whatshername who's father is at the Royal Palace....blondie who hated Lissa? She saw them together a lot. Maybe that's how it got back to Tatiana.

The queen could have found out through Priscilla Voda, she was the queen's friend and advisor. I think Priscilla was related to Ralf or Jesse but I don't remember.

i actually think that rose and adrian should be together. i know everyone probably disagrees but i think they would be cute together.

To be honest 7 years is not a big deal. It's just that they see each other as student and teacher when people are around. Theres a teacher at my school that i think is good looking (he's 23) but i also feel weird about it though.

I love adrian too but R&D belong together, plus i'm in love with Dimitri. i like Tasha but she annoyed me when she was all flirting with D, she also gave the impression that she knew rose had a crush on D so she flirted in front of her.

I totally think that Mia somehow had a part in the queen knowing cos she's a shit stirrer.
