PostSubject: Incest within Teen Literature!   Fri Oct 30, 2009 9:20 am

This is the best idea to discuss the idea of Incest within Teen Literature, since last time i checked, Vampire Academy has some amount of Cousin/Cousin Incest in the novels, the last time i checked, so can we name other cases of Incest within Teen Literature, as well, perferably of the Cousin/Cousin kind? Razz

oh wow a little awkward no? I say it awkward because the way this was written, or rather the way i read it, it kinda sounds like your promoting incest. Lol. I know that's not the case though.

But i think your a little mistaken. In VA royals used the term cousin as a sign of respect. Like Adrian calling Lissa cousin. However, they aren't really blood cousins. But, i think all of the vampires have interconnecting family trees somewhere down the line- but not immediately. I don't recall anyone dating that's closely related.

Vampire Academy does not have incest!!! Christian and Lissa are not first cousins. They are not related by blood at all. "Cousin" is just a term Moroi call each other because all Moroi originate from the same place, so in a way they are all "cousins".

I think he's getting confused because of the cousin thing as well as Christian having enough dragomir blood within his line so that if Lissa and Christian ever had kids the children could be counted as Dragomirs.
And Chris and Tony were talking about people like Ivashkovs being with other Ivashkovs and whether or not it'd be incest.

It's not like they're marrying brother and sisters together OR is stated earlier first cousins etc.
If the "title" of one of the families wants to be kept "pure" then they're going to have to have some DISTANT relation, but nothing that could be counted as "incest" not in the way you're thinking about it Tony.

I am feeling that the Dragomir blood-line is somehow failing, for Christian's parents to have...well, gone bad.How did that happen, again?

Sorry, Kim...i didn't know from which side of the family Christian had Dragomir blood, from, really, which bothered me all too much. Embarassed

I guess i had to make the thread to talk about Christian and Lissa's case, along with that of other cases like theirs, like Sirius' and Regulus' own parents, anyone?Otherwise, i'd go insane.

Christian's parents weren't dragomirs by title. But somewhere in their family's past someone married into the dragomir family giving them enough of the title for it to continue IF another dragomir was present.

Christian isn't a dragomir nor could he claim to be at any time.

I wonder if its alright to discuss the case of the parents of the Black Family brothers, who are cousins?
