| Another "spirit" user that chose to lose her connection entirely through evil than continue the way she was. Can you imagine preferring a life as Strigoi over Spirit? Wonder if her boyfriend, the Guardian, ever imagined how deeply her healing gift impacted her. Wonder if Rose will run into that Guardian since they now have similar missions. What was his name? Anyone remember? |

My questions about Ms. Karp are more directed to whether Tanner knew why she was going crazy. You'd think that even if she didn't have a shadow-kissed person to help deal with the pain, letting someone know about her would have helped to ease some of the pain. As for preferring Strigoi life, I guess it all depends on horrible you'd feel. I can't image Ms.Karp would have thought she had Spirit, unless she was doing some really deep study into what was happening to her. I also don't think she had as strong a version of Spirit as Lissa and Adrian, because both of them had develop ways of stopping the madness at young stages of their lives. Mr. Karp managed to last until she was a teacher, so she either had less strength in Spirit or didn't seem to have the same desire to use the fabulous magic in the ways Lissa and Adrian did. But since Ms. Karp was a healer too I doubt she'd be able to resist the urge to heal things like she did to Rose before they escaped the Academy. She seemed to know what she was doing most of the time though, like when Lissa healed that Raven, so I guess she did know enough about it to know why she was going crazy. |

| That's true. Since she was a healer, and we all know how hard it is for Lissa not to heal things, maybe she had a similar issue, but since she didn't really have anyone else to consult with, like Lissa has Adrian and the information she got from Mrs. Karp, then maybe she thought the only way to get rid of her power and stop making herself insane was to just end it and get rid of her power altogether. _________________ "When it's time to live and let die, and you can't get another try, something inside this heart has died, you're in ruins." --Green Day

| Exactly, but then again she was obvious close to Tanner otherwise he wouldn't feel the need to go after her. I wonder how he's going with his hunt? |

| I don't know. Maybe him and rose will meet up when she is hunting for dimitri. But when I reread the first book I was noticing that when ms. Karp was acting all looney and saying they will come for her. They are always watching. They will take her. Well we never really found out who they were... But I think maybe she might have been warning Lissa of victor in some way but she didn't know it was him yet. Because just like when lissa was taken, guardians came to take ms. Karp away..andddd then that could explain why she felt she didn't have any other options, she actually did have to get rid of her power to end her suffering. Also it explains how they never came to take away lissa in rose's perspective anyways because the guardians who took ms. Karp told rose they were from like a hospital or clinic or something, but that very well could have been a cover story... So yeah I guess that's my theory. _________________ "When it's time to live and let die, and you can't get another try, something inside this heart has died, you're in ruins." --Green Day

| I never imagined it could have been a cover. I suppose that makes sense, we already know they don't like announcing Spirit to the world all that much, so covering up Ms. Karp might have been the only way they knew how to deal with it. Or perhaps she was going to be used in some secret facility or something...? Maybe not for Victor and his personal healing, but something else. Ms.Karp definitely seemed to know a lot more than she was telling Rose. Maybe she knew of others with spirit too and knew she would eventually be taken away and be used for their unknown "projects"? |

| i think that maybe whoever said it is right about the whole victor thing cause she said she didn't reckognise the guardians that came to take ms karp away and for some reason when i re read the books it seemed way to close to what hapened to lissa in the chapel when they took her |
