i just thought about somthing .
they arent supposed to be able to touch the SLIVER stakes because they are silver and filled with magic
but how did dimitri hold rose's sliver ring filled with sprit magic then ??

That's the same sort of thing we've been considering, that Dimitri seems to be able to do things that we thought Strigoi couldn't do.

maybe its because hes just different and Not meant to be strigoi and still has a soul but dosent release it yet ?? because he still has a heart beat and DEAD people are not supposet to have heart beats .

I thought that strigoi couldn't touch silver because it has harmful effects on all magical creatures, at least thats what all the myths/legends say. And strigoi also couldn't touch the stakes in particular because the magic is filled with life, which strigoi don't have. But it seems as though spirit is more death than life to me. I mean, think about it. It can bring people back from the dead, and it makes people depressed, and suicidal. Oh, and Rose is connected to the magic, and she can see dead people's souls, or whatever. I think that if spirit was full with LIFE, then it would have POSITIVE side effects. So maybe, if spirit isn't filled with life, like the other elements of magic, then strigoi can touch it. Just tossing another theory out there.

and the ghost thing isnt really a spirt thing it comes from being shadow kissed

so, just to help SecretMagic out a bit and so she doesnt have to remember 50 questions to ask richelle, i'd be happy to ask some of your questions too if anyone wants.
also -
this may be a bit off, but richelle didnt exactly mention what dimitri was wearing at all the times in the book,
therefore - if anyone can remember the movie 'Blade', the vampires in that were unable to touch silver, but some were wearing gloves so really, it didnt touch the skin it touched the material.
he could have then simply pulled the stake out like he had down with the wooden chair leg.
its basically the same as the previous blanket theory

It just seems to me that spirit is more negative-death than positive-life, like the rest of the elements. I mean, air users don't have creepy side-effects from using their magic, because its filled with life, right? But so why does Lissa get negative side-effects - depression - when she uses HER magic? I just don't think that spirit is filled with life, like the rest of the elements are.

I agree, that Dimitri could've been wearing gloves. In fact, I think its highly plausible.
