| Reposted from Amazon discussion: | Quote: | Richelle Mead has said at her public signings that Rose's story will likely wrap up in book #5. She may continue writing Vampire Academy books, if there's enough interest and if she still enjoys writing it.
If she does keep writing stories in the Vampire Academy universe, what do you think she'll write about next? Who will be the next main character? |
I for one hope that if there is a series of books, that the POV is from Dmitri (assuming he survives), Christian or Lissa. |

| I had a similar discussion with other people and we were in agreement that we would love (a la Midnight Sun) a retelling of the series from Dimitri's POV! What was he thinking and feeling when he first met Rose, when their relationship developed, when he struggled to control his feelings and then when he finally gave into them...I think it would be awesome! Lissa's POV? No offense, but no thanks. There's only so much "me, me, me" I can take. Christian could be interesting though, since he was a veritable outcast until he 'met' Lissa. _________________ Yes, I know it's Devil Hunter Yohko...but she reminded me of Rose. |

| Imagine Christian's scenes living with his Strigoi parents? Or Dmitri first waking up Strigoi. |

| I agree either Christian or Dimitri. I feel like there would be more material to work with for Dimitri already than there would be for Christian. However, if Mead were to write about christian she would be able to add more creative stuff to the piece, like stuff we don't already know is going to happen.... hahaha just re-read that, I'm not sure if I make sense at all. _________________ "When it's time to live and let die, and you can't get another try, something inside this heart has died, you're in ruins." --Green Day

| Dimitri's! I think that would be great, he's had an interesting life. And yeah, hearing him talk about waking up Strigoi would be awesome. |

| I asked the group owner to change the thread title accordingly. One series I read, there was an 18 year (!!) hiatus between book 2 and 3. Luckily, I picked up the series AFTER book 3 had come out. So April is not so bad in comparison. |

| 18 years?!?! That's mental! OMG! I can't imagine waiting that long. I would have basically given up after a few years like 2 or 3. Longer than that? And I think I would lose interest. I would also suspect that the author just doesn't care anymore. IMO, it's a form of disrespect to the fans. Hold on...is this the Vampire Diaries you're talking about? I know the first few books came out in 1991. And now Nightfall just came out in like February or March this year. Then again, like you, I only discovered the books this year, so for me it wasn't really a wait for Nightfall. _________________ Yes, I know it's Devil Hunter Yohko...but she reminded me of Rose. |

| Instead of doing it from anothers point of view (though I would love to read it from Dimitri's POV just like I did Edwards- still wishing that book would be finished) what about continuing on with Lissa/Christian/Adrian in college. How they survive the Queen trying to match them up and learning more about spirit users. We would still hear about Rose and Dimitri in their happy lives together as guardians at the Palace as well..... hopefully. yeah I know I've got to learn to let go |

It was Pamela Kauffman's Alix of Wanthwaite series. It is set during the reign of Richard I and King John as told through the eyes of Lady Alix. Kauffman's husband, then son died between books 2 and 3 and it took her forever to get back. The third book showed the absence. It was as if Kauffman had slightly forgotten who Alix, King John and Enoch (Alix's husband) were. |

| The concept of those books sounds pretty interesting. But the fact that the writer left it for so long...awful. And worse was that you could TELL she had left it for so long and lost the flow and feel of the story. _________________ Yes, I know it's Devil Hunter Yohko...but she reminded me of Rose. |

| I think it would be interesting to get something from Adrian's pov. He's really mysterious. All we know is: 1) He's super royal (related to the queen); 2) He has spirit; 3) He loves Rose. That's IT. I want some motives and some background! And of course, anything from Dimitri would be spectacular! |

| From what I read, Richelle Mead said that on the Vampire Academy series, there will be 6 total books in the series, with possibly a spin-off series. I got this from her official website. It would be great if Dimitri stayed alive and the stories kept telling the point of view of Rose while she is in love with Dimitri. |
